Komedia, Brighton
Established in 1994, Komedia is at the forefront of Brighton’s beloved independent live entertainment scene with a broad, diverse arts programme.
With over 700 performances every year of comedy, music, cabaret, spoken word, arts and children’s theatre, the programme features the very best of international and national performers and includes Komedia’s all-conquering resident comedy shows: Komedia Comedy Club, Comic Boom and Down the Hatch.
Whilst winning the Chortle Comedy Award for Best Venue in the South a record 18 times, Komedia is also an important grassroots music venue in Brighton and regular feature of The Great Escape festival.

Monkey Barrel Comedy was awarded ‘Scotland’s Best Comedy Venue’ by Chortle in 2023 and 2024, is Edinburgh's #1 rated Comedy Club and was home to the Best Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Since opening in 2017, Monkey Barrel Comedy has programmed some of the most diverse, interesting and innovative line-ups in UK comedy, culminating in numerous awards. We are a local, community-focused comedy club which strives to deliver the best experience for everyone who works, visits or performs with us. We are owner managed, independent and (usually!) open 7 days a week in Edinburgh's Old Town.

While the multi-week festival has scaled rapidly to include locations across three continents, The Bedford in Balham remains its ultimate crown jewel. The pub's iconic, theatre-style performance rooms host the bulk of the festival's UK marquee shows and double-bills.
